August Bank Holiday Beer Festivals

Beer festivals in Lancashire, Cumbria and Merseyside throughout the August Bank Holiday

Is there a better way to spend your August bank holiday than at a beer festival? If there is, we don’t know about it. There are a few beer festivals happening this coming bank holiday from Friday 24th – Monday 27th August. Darwen’s Beer Festival

The first ever Darwen Beer and Gin Festival will have beers by Darwen brewers Three Bees and Hopstar Brewery on tap, as well as beers by Bowland Brewery and other local breweries. It’s being held at the local cricket club, so expect cricket-based activities to continue throughout the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The Great British Food Festival

Hosted at Stonyhurst College, the Great British Food Festival might be about food, but it’s also got plenty on offer drink-wise too. You might even see a TV chef or two n’all.

Tickets: £8 adults, £5 children, £7 concession, £25 family

Euxton Beer and Gin Festival

Live music, great beer and family fun day on the Sunday. There’s no website – just turn up at the cricket club on Friday from 1pm, and Saturday or Sunday from 12pm to join in.

Longridge Beer, Cider and Gin Festival

Food and cricket match beer pretty well and from Friday to Sunday there’ll be plenty of all three.

£3 entry.

Penwortham CC Beer Festival

Five pounds will get you entry to Penwortham’s biggest ever beer festival throughout August Bank Holiday, from Friday through to Sunday. There’ll also be cider, gin and prosecco and plenty of BBQ and pizza to go around.

Bolton Food and Drink Festival

From Friday to Monday, drink and eat with some of TV’s biggest chefs including Nadiya Hussain, Ainsley Harriot and James Martin.  There’s a lot to do over the weekend, so check out their website for more info: www.boltonfoodanddrinkfestival.com

Crosby Food and Drink Festival

At Burbo Bank for the whole bank holiday weekend, visit the biggest ever Crosby Food and Drink Festival. Beers will be provided by Neptune Brewery among other great local breweries. Visit the Facebook event for more info.

Helmshore Beer Fest

Held in – you’ve guessed it – Helmshore, this beer fest is coming back bigger and better than ever, with live music and tons of local beer. You’ll find a huge line-up from Northern Whisper, as well as some other great local breweries.

Rivington Brew Co. – Tap Beneath The Trees

The final TBTT of the year. Make it a good ‘un. Beer by Rivington, food by visiting street food vendors and donuts by Dough & Co. Camping available.

Drovers Rest Birthday Beer Fest

Imagine having your 5th birthday on August Bank Holiday. What are the chances? Join in with the festivities in a specially-erected beer tent with 20+ cask beers, keg beers and traditional ciders.

Blackburn Golf Club Beer Festival

Takes place throughout the weekend, and it’s only £5 entry (and for that you get a commemorative glass.)

Cross Bay Beer and Music Festival

Beer, cider, live music and the Cross Bay Brew House in Morecambe. What’s not to like? Takes place from Friday to Monday.
